Requiem For A Dream

Mozart - Summer Overture

This will make anything dramatic... Trust me.

EDIT: This composure will also make you feel as though you are in a movie scene, while you're riding your sport bike, and it makes you ride faster and faster. Just a heads up...

Shout Out

.
As I was coming home today after work, I was driving down Red Crow when I turned the corner, and saw a sign made of plywood that had "Slo down - Cops ahead" quickly spray painted on it, propped up against a old van on the side of the road. I took note and slowed down, then gave a quick honk to the 3 guys sitting in lawn chairs on their front lawn drinking beer! HAHA! They raised their cans and I waved back. I thought it was awesome. Just 3 dudes helping everyone else driving home out with a little warming. And that sign that those guys made completely fucked that speed trap over, because every single car heading in that direction would have seen the sign about half a block before the cops saw them. Genius!

So I just wanted to thank those 3 guys. Kudos guys! You probably saved me from another 100 dollar speeding ticket!

I bort uh lappy off da internetz

.
Coach Z...? No? Alright then...

Yeah, I bought a new laptop! (woo!)

I have wanted one for quite some time now... After having one for so long for school it was hard going without (I had to give my old one back to the college when my first year was done...), as I was used to the amenities having one offered. But it was really just a need/want situation... so I continued on with just my desktop.

I had been using my sisters a lot around the house, and I began to start wanting one again. So I went down to Future Shop and had a look at some of them, and also was hunting around on the internet, but again decided against it...

Until I got a raise! (Woo for that as well. I'm pretty stoked about it... was going to blog about it... but thought a side note in a post like this one would do just as good... )

I decided that as a gift to myself I would go ahead and shell out for a new laptop. And that is exactly what I did...

I got a Toshiba Satellite A300 15.4'' laptop.

I am very impressed with it so far. Not much to say other than that... I've only been using it for a day, and right now I'm just trying to adjust to using a new OS. Not too sure about this Windows Vista business...

Here are some specs and shots of it:

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit.
Hard Drive: 320 GB/5400 RPM
Optical Drive: DVD SuperMulti Dual Layer Drive 8X
Processor Speed: 2.2GHz
Processor Type: AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-64 Dual Core
RAM: 3GB (DDR2)
Screen Size: 15.4"
Graphics Chipset: ATI Radeon X1250
Native Screen Resolution: 1280x800
Audio Chipset: Conexant CX20561
Harman Kardon Speakers
Card Reader - SDHC/xD/M/S/MS Pro/MMC
Webcam
Notebook Thickness: 3.85 cm
Notebook Weight: 2.72 kg
Notebook Width: 36.3 cm
Coolness Factor: Off the freakin' charts!!!1!one!

Touch pad.

I also picked up a wireless mouse as well, because I hate using laptop touch pads...

I got the Logitech VX Nano.

I picked this mouse for a few reason. 1) It was Logitech. ALL of my computer devices are Logitech, and I love them. They also stand behind everything they make. Highly recommended... 2) It was small, sleek and comfortable, but the real selling point was the USB receiver. It's so tiny! Look at that thing! I can leave it in and forget about it and not have to remove it when I put it in my laptop bag. I think it's awesome.

Tiny ass USB receiver.

EDIT: I have been informed that the imagine above is in fact a nickel, and not a dime...

Jardine Performance RT-1 Carbon Fiber Slip-On Exhaust System

.
That's right! I finally bite the bullet and ordered an exhaust system for the RR, and I'm so pumped! I went with Jardine Performance RT-1 dual outlet carbon fiber slip-on system.

I absolutely love the way this pipe looks! One of the best out there for the CBR in my opinion. The dual outlet just tops it all off. The can itself is constructed of carbon fiber. Making it extremely light and strong. I love the way carbon fiber looks, and hope to do more with it on the bike, so having a carbon fiber can was an obvious choice.

As far as performance goes, the RT-1 is going to shave off about 6Lbs from the bike, add about 5 horsepower, and make it sound a hell of a lot louder!!! The RT-1 is open baffle to allow maximum airflow from the engine, with in turn makes the exhaust loud, and leaves me grinning from ear to ear! (Those stats don't sound huge, but keep in mind that you are taking 6 pounds off and adding 5 HP to a 300 pound bike that has more horsepower than most small cars on the road)

Anyway, I'm very excited about it, and can't wait to get in installed and fire it up for the first time. It's will be like starting it for the first time all over again!

Here it is. My Jardine RT-1!

Why I Fired My Secretary...

This doesn't count as my post I promised, but I just found this story on Digg and though I'd share. Put a quick smile on my face anyway.

Last week was my birthday and I didn't feel very well waking up that morning. I went downstairs for breakfast hoping my wife would be pleasant and say, "Happy birthday!", and possibly have a present for me.

As it turned out, she barely said good morning, let alone "Happy birthday".

I thought... well, that's marriage for you, but the kids will remember. My kids ate breakfast and didn't say a word.

So when I left for the office, I was feeling pretty low and somewhat despondent.

As I walked into my office, my secretary, Jane said, "Good morning boss, happy birthday!" It felt a little better that at least someone had remembered.

I worked until one o'clock and then Jane knocked on my door and said, "You know, it's such a beautiful day outside, and it's your birthday, let's go out to lunch, just you and me".

I said, "Thanks Jane, that's the greatest thing I've heard all day. Let's go!"

We went to lunch. But we didn't go where we normally would go. We dined instead at a little place with a private table. We had two martinis each and I enjoyed the meal tremendously.

On the way back to the office, Jane said, "You know, it's such a beautiful day... We don't need to go back to the office, do we?"

I responded, "I guess not. What do you have in mind?"

She said, "Let's go to my apartment".

After arriving at her apartment Jane turned to me and said, "Boss, if you don't mind, I'm going to step into the bedroom for a moment. I'll be right back".

"OK", I nervously replied.

She went into the bedroom and, after a couple of minutes, she came out carrying a huge birthday cake... followed by my wife, kids, and dozens of my friends and co-workers, all singing "Happy Birthday".

And I just sat there...

On the couch...

Naked...

My Desk Is A Mess

I will write something.

Life

.
Angels & Airwaves - Lifeline

"With an urgent, careful stare,
I see panic in those eyes.
If I see you lying there,
Hoping this was the last time

If you hear a distant sound,
And some footsteps by your side.
When the world comes crashing down.
I will find you if you hide.

If you wish it, wish it now.
If you wish it, wish it loud.
If you want it, say it now.
If you want it, say it loud.

We all make mistakes.
Here's your Lifeline.
If you want it, I want to.
We all make mistakes.
Here's your Lifeline.
If you want it, I want to.

There’s a field near the dream.
I watched it grow with whitest light.
I watched us all reach out and lean.
For the strength to touch the sky.

If you hear a distant sound.
And some footsteps by your side.
If you feel like coming round.
I will take you for a ride.

If you wish it, wish it now.
If you wish it, wish it loud.
If you want it, say it now.
If you want it, say it loud.

We all make mistakes.
Here's your Lifeline.
If you want it, I want to.
We all make mistakes.
.
Here's your Lifeline.
If you want it, I want to.

Ooooh....

If you want it, I want to.
If you want it, I want to.
If you want it, I want to.
If you want it, I want to.
If you want it, I want to.
If you want it, I want to.
If you want it, I want to.
If you want it, I want to."

Pandas rule, and I want one. Take a looks...

Twitter

.
I recently discovered, and decided to join a site called Twitter.

What is Twitter?

"Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send "updates" (or "tweets"; text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) to the Twitter website, via SMS (e.g. on a cell phone), instant messanging , or a third-party application such as Facebook."
It's pretty much a quick way to see what all your friends are doing. Instantly.

You just go there, or text exactly what you're doing at any moment. For example, I was shopping for parts for my bike earlier and I texted "Can't decide what exhaust to get for my bike". Simple

Now if you were sitting there idly, thinking "I wondering what Chris Widdifield is doing. He sure is good looking..." You could hit up my twitter, and see that I was shopping for exhaust for my bike.

Or even better, it could get you out of a serious jam (However, very unlikely)
I was watching Diggnation the other day, and they had a story about a guy who went to Egypt I believe it was, and he got into some trouble with the law, and right before he was arrested he sent "getting arrested. Help" from his cell to his Twitter. His friends all saw it, and they notified the proper authorities... Pretty cool story I thought.

And if you notice on the right hand Nav bar on my blog, right under my Profile, you'll see "What I'm Doing". That is my Twitter feed. So anything I send to my Twitter, will show up there. So while you do your 5th daily fix of my site, you'll be able to see exactly what I'm doing... As long as I keep updating it.

So yeah. That's Twitter. I think it's cool, and want some people I actaully know to join, so it doesn't seem like I am just updating myself on what the hell I'm doing. Mitch took the plunge just the other day, so at least I have one follower :)

Go join Twitter!

(It's late and I didn't proofread. Proofreading is for sissies! Try and read past typos)

Stupid Ass Rating System Star Bullshit

.
If you've read the last post I posted about 20 minutes ago, you'd know that I'm kinda pissed off about that stupid star rating shit on my blog that Blogger decided it didn't need to announce or tell anyone about...

After about 15 minutes of hunting around, I figured out how to turn them off. Thankfully.

If you want to know, it's easy.

- Go to your dashboard
- Then go to the 'Layout' tab
- Then click on the 'edit' link in the bottom right hand corner on the Blog Posts section
- And lastly uncheck the "Show Star Ratings" check box
- Done

So yeah Blogger, you deserve a kick in the nuts for fucking with peoples blogs without asking them about it first.

End second Rant.

If all of that has offended you, I'm sorry. Don't read my blog anymore. And if you are angry, here is a picture of Ice cream and kitties. Win-Win.

.
.

WTF

I don't know what the fuck that stupid rating bullshit is that just suddenly appeared on my blog, but I'm trying to figure it out, and get it the fuck out of here.

So ignore it for now.

And fuck you blogger for doing stupid shit without asking me.

End Rant.
