As you might have noticed, the address of my blog is missing ".blogspot" in the URL.

It is now WWW.CHRISWIDDIFIELD.COM

It's the real deal. 100% registered domain! :)

For now it will remain the same as is always has. Just my blog. However, once I get a bit more time I am hoping to actually do some designing and whatnot. See if I can whip up a site of my own.

Right now it is setup so traffic will be automatically directed to the new URL. So anyone that goes to chriswiddifield.blogspot.com will just get directed straight to the new chriswiddifield.com without hassle. ( I hope)

So if there is some down time, or things just aren't working... bare with me. I'm trying to get all the kinks worked out as fast as possible.

Sooo... Yeah. Woo for a real website!

"Hands, like secrets, are the hardest thing to keep from you
Lines and phrases, like knives, your words can cut me through
Dismantle me down (Repair!)
You dismantle me...
You dismantle me..."

Go find it, and listen to it. Great song. Great band. Try it.

Crazy Weather

.
Seems like the weather has taken a turn for the worst all over the country.
This is what I woke up to this morning...

Front lawn.

Back yard.

I was talking to Kent this morning, and I was saying that not even a week ago I was out on my driveway waxing my motorcycle, wearing shorts and sunglasses, having a beer in the sun, enjoying the start of summer... and now I have this to look at. I am not impressed.

The OC

.
So about 3 weeks or so ago I was sitting on my computer, and the song No Rain by Blind Melon came on, and it reminded me of a specific OC episode (The Rainy Day Women). And after thinking about it for awhile, I got the urge to watch it. So I tried to look for it on QuikSilverScreen, but had no luck, then I tried downloading it, but my torrents were going stupidly slow... So it seemed I was SOL.

I got over the fact that I wouldn't be able to watch it that night, but I still wanted to watch it.

So what is a boy to do?

Buy the entire series! HAHA.

eBay of course.

All 4 seasons new and sealed on DVD! I was quite thrilled to see the exact auction I was looking for with my first search. And to make things even better, there was a Buy It Now option on this item. 3 clicks later and I was the proud owner!

(2-3 weeks later)

Ding Ding Ding!

It's not that I like The OC THAT much, It's more the things I remember when I watch them. Good times were had while the OC was on. And not to mention I am an impulse buyer, and eBay makes that very easy.

So yeah. Got myself The OC... Pretty pleased with myself :)

Rainy Day Women, here I come!

We've Got A iPod Down... Pod Down...

.
What you've heard is true... My iPod is dead :(

A truly sad day.

I haven't had any problems with it until now. Everything was working fine when I plugged in and started listening... but when I went to switch the song, I couldn't. And when I tried turning the volume down, it wouldn't work... So clearly, the touch pad and buttons crapped out on me...

It does actually still work other than that small technicality... It turns on every morning at 5:55 AM and starts playing my "Recently Added" playlist, which is only 3 songs... HAha. I'm getting pretty sick of those songs at this point. But seeing how I can't navigate to switch anything, I am stuck with it. I can't even stop it from turning on in the morning... So it'll do that until it actually does completely kick the bucket.

So a new one is on the way. Black iPod Classic... And not a moment too soon. I listen to my iPod while I am work if I am working with a crew I don't like, or if someone is listening to shit music that I don't care for... So I pretty much have it on all the time.

Even though my old one is broken, it is not useless to me. It is now being used as an external, and mobile hard drive. I'll format it, and then just use it as a 4th line of defense in backing up my important files. So if my 80 GB HD dies, and my 200 GB HD gets stolen, and on the way out, the thieves steal my DVD-RW's containing the essence of my PC, I will still have a the old iPod to replace those files.

Commence Head Banging Now

.
Story of the Year - Tell Me (PAC)

"So tell me
Tell me that I'm not all alone
And everything's alright
So tell me
Tell me that I'm not all alone
And everything's alright now

Tonight we'll tear this city down
Yeah we're gonna drive all night
Reach the sun (I'll pray that time won't end)
I'll pray that time will never end
Race the clock again with you
With you!"

.

AH! STORY OF THE YEAR! XD

Mega Kudos flying out to Mitch here! MEGA! He hooked me up with an advanced copy of Story of the Years new album The Black Swan!

I've been looking forward to new Story of the Year for awhile now! Adam and Mitch actually introduced me to their music almost 2 years ago and I love them! Easy one of my favorite bands! Epic in my eyes! Their album isn't out until April 22nd, but for the tech savvy, you can get your hands on pretty much anything before it's released! I checked not even a week ago, and came up with nothing, and about 10 minutes ago I was sitting idly on MSN and all of a sudden I see this in my contact list:

Mitch(R)* - Story of the Year - Angel in the Swamp

* The R is the emoticon for a rainbow... HAHA

So obviously I shit my pants, then quickly Facebook, and IM him to get the torrent to me ASAP!
And within 10 minutes I am vigorously head banging to the first song on the album with my speakers at a deafening level!

So far (3rd song in) It's awesome! HAHA! I'm happy as shit right now! Woooo!

Again! Mega kudos! You'd have to do a 45 second power slide, around a corner, while in reverse to get these kind of koods! ;)

Post

Uh, yeah. I don't do a lot... in turn I don't have a lot to write about...

Works been busy. Same old there. I started grilling houses now I guess. Which I'm not too pumped about, as I loath wood chips... They are awful. And as you can imagine when you drill hundreds of holes through wood, many of which are above your head, you get covered in the little devils... But It is nice to learn something new, and grilling was my next step I guess...

I also get a new work van. Could have cared less about that to tell you the truth. I was driving one of the older ones before, and I didn't mind it at all. I had it nicely broken in. Had everything where I wanted it, and it was organized the way I wanted. It only had AM radio, but I liked that. I got to listen to 660: Calgary's Only All New Radio! HAHA. It caught me up on my daily news, and I also knew what streets to avoid in Calgary... ;)

As for outside of work... I rarely do much during the week. Maybe catch a movie or something like that. However now that it is getting nice out, I am starting to bring my bike out, so that's awesome.

I've also fell into kind of an eBay rut... And I love it. HAHA.
Buying stuff of eBay is a lot of fun. The thrill of bidding, and anticipation of the auction... It's all good. You get caught up in it... Which usually ends up with me spending a lot more than I initially planned on. HAHA. Oh well, I usually know when to call it a day.
Over the last couple weeks I've walked away with a new hat, a poster, a new shirt. (NWT of course) some DVD's (I'll post about that one when it shows up...) and I'm bidding on some bike stuff right now. Fun fun.

I'm still truck hunting... kinda... I started wanting used, then quickly wanted new, then thought it over and decided used was the way to go... and now I'm back on new... HAHA. Right now it's just a Need over Want kind of thing. Do I need a new truck? No... well, kinda... If the Jeep keeps going on it's current path it will be a need. Do I want a new truck? Oh man... So bad. The 08 Silverados are beautiful. 10/10 on looks, and they drive like a dream (Yes I went test driving!) But finding the truck I want, in a used one is sitting right next to impossible... I had my dealer do a search on the exact truck I wanted, with all the options and extras I wanted, and search came up with 5... In all of Canada... 3 of which are in Ontario or further, and the other 2 are in BC. I was advised to buy a new one straight from Chevy if I went the new route... But that's still up, way up, in the air... I think eBay would see a drastic change in traffic from Mr. Widdifield if a new 4x4 showed up on my drive way...

Anyway, there's a little something to read up on. Hope you enjoyed, and could understand my random rambling.

Chris.
