Yeah Yeah Yeah!

Why I am posting at 9:30 on a Monday morning you ask? "But Chris, shouldn't you be working right now?!" you say?

NO! HAHA!

All last week we've heard about how cold it was going to be this week...but what we got was a lot colder than I thought it was going to be. I woke up this morning and looked at my thermometer and saw -31°, with a -45° wind chill. Luckily for me, I just bought new work boots, a new jacket and a couple pairs of wildly thick wool socks... Couple that with a full suit of Under Armour, 2 sweaters, and a pair of Carhartt insulated overalls... I was ready to roll!

However, upon arriving at the shop this morning, my boss had a different plan... And it was OK with me!

He tells us it's way too cold with the wind chill to be outside all day, and that a rough-in would be out of the question, because wire cannot be pulled in temperatures this low... the insulation would just crack and break.

So what does that mean?!

Snow Day baby!!! Woooooooo!

15 electricians smiling like they are 12 years old again in the coffee room. Hahaha... it was a great morning. And hopefully it's at least -25° tomorrow, so it'll all happen again!

I'm going to go waste away my free day off! :D

Have a good day!

Quick Note

.
Being deleted off Facebook is such a slap in the face. You know someone wants nothing to do with you, and does not care about a single thing you are doing when they delete you from their friend list. Cuts deep you know?!

So the next time someone screws you over, delete them off Facebook. They'll get the point.

OR!

If someone has done nothing, but still somehow gets the sharp end of the stick, delete them anyway! It makes such good sense!

Something Corporate - I Woke Up In A Car

" ...and maybe I could live forever
if that ever I had known
that you'd be waiting there whenever I am all alone

but here I am
well I woke up in a car
I traced a way the fog
so I could see the Mississippi on her knees
I've never been so lost
I've never felt so much at home
please write my folks and throw away my keys..."

Great song. Have a listen.

Fuzz Buster

.
Alright, If you don't know me, or how I drive, I will fill you in. I drive fast. Often faster then the posted "Speed limit" (Pfft...) I wouldn't say I drive like an idiot, or recklessly, but it is usually over the speed limit. However I pride myself in my driving abilities and I know MY limit...

Now I was good for about three and a half years, 'till one Friday afternoon a handsome man on a sexy motorcycle got busted going 150 KM/H while he left Lethbridge and got his first speed ticket...

I was mad about the ticket, but I got over it. I paid it (At the last minute mind you. I actually might have had a warrant out for my arrest on that one...Hmm) and went on my way. I slowed down for about 24 hours, but it was back to my old ways shortly after. Now, my "old ways" aren't crazy. Highway is usually a comfortable 120-130, and in the city it's usually 60-70. Not unheard of by any means...

Anyway, I'll get to the point of this post.

Last night I decided to go out and meet a couple buddies at a bar to hang out for a bit. It was pretty late. Around 11:30-12. I was going down Scenic Drive here in Lethbridge going "Recorded speed: 78 Km/h Speed Limit: 60 km/h". What do you think happens next?

All of a sudden I see a dark colored Crown Vic roll out from behind 2 parked cars and flip on his lame looking ghost car police lights...

Well Shit I say to myself as I pull over and onto the curb of the seemingly abandoned Scenic Drive South at midnight on a Saturday night...

"Going 78 in a 60. I need your license and proof of insurance now please." is the next thing I hear. So I give it to him... then sit for a good 25 to 30 minutes... Softly jamming to some SotY... Taking pictures of myself getting busted...

Finally he comes back. He asked why I was in a hurry. I tell him that I was on my way to the bar to pick up a friend who needed a ride (Complete bullshit I know, but maybe a way out I thought...?) Of course not... "Oh, well then... I got you going 78 in a 60 zone. You can plead guilty and pay... Blah blah"

Half an hour later and a $113 ticket in my hands I roll away... Slightly pissed off to say the least.

I was pissed! Like come on! It's Saturday night at midnight with no one around. Yes I know I was still speeding... but could he not have just pulled me over and tore me a new one for 10 minutes... Give me a break. It was just a piss off.

So what do you think I did as soon as I woke up this morning?

I roll down to Visions Electronics and buy myself a top-of-the-line radar detector! HAHA! Sure slowing down is cheaper, but just not getting caught is so much more fun!

So Chris will now will driving and riding sporting the Escort Passport 8500 X50 Radar and Laser detector!

"Hailed as the most revolutionary radar/laser detector ever. The Passport 8500 X50's new "V-Tuned" radar receiver provides extreme detection range on all police radar; conventional and "instant-on" radar, including the new POP mode radar threat, X-Band, and up to 50% more range than the original Passport 8500 on the all-important K and Ka bands. Digital signal processing (DSP) provides maximum range, with minimum false alarms."

Simply put, the X50 is one of the best consumer radar detectors you can buy. Read some reviews on this machine...

"The Passport 8500 may be the best detector ever made."

"With more sensitivity and range than Brand V, the Passport 8500 X50 is the only way to go."

"Escort's latest detector offers good performance and a long list of features."

This list of reviews is from valid and knowledgeable sources, so this thing better preform! And get me out of at least 3 or 4 tickets to pay for itself. Either way, I'm pretty excited about a new toy that I've wanted for awhile. Check it out...

Shut Up

.

"Students with higher grades usually experience more success in SAIT's programs."

This statement pissed me right off....

So if you get good grades and are smart, you'll do fine, but if you suck and are dumb you're a fucking idiot. Don't bother coming here.

End rant.
