"Little Did He Know..."

.
I watched Stranger Than Fiction tonight, and I thought it was great. I really enjoyed it. It's an old kind of story, put together in a completely new way. It's just a different movie, with the odd joke, and a unique plot. If you're wanting to watch a movie, go check this one out.

PS: I think the Baker is ridiculously attractive.

May Long 2007 - Point Form

  • Got off work at 3:30 then had a drink at the shop after
  • Filled up the Jeep, got ice, beer, and McDonald's then took off
  • Pulled into Shaunavon at around 7, and did my Main Street lap
  • Went to Rebecca's then went to Jiggers for the night
  • Chilled with Scott, Jenna, Nick, Rebecca, Tyson, Aaron, and their girlfriends
  • Left early then went to bed
  • Woke up late
  • Didn't do anything all day
  • Had a fire and went hot tubbing that night
  • Decided to have an internal conflict with myself, then went to bed pissy
  • Woke up late
  • Hung out all day
  • Went to Kruse-Dahl's with Jeremy that night and had some drinks
  • Went for a drive
  • Picked up Adam and Becky. Scared them in the Jeep (HAHA)
  • Decided it was a good idea to go to Simmie at around 10:00
  • Gassed up the Jeep, got "Breakfast" and headed out
  • Got there and hung out with everyone
  • Hydrated often and frequently throughout the night
  • Listened to Patio Lanterns
  • Everyone decided it'd be cool to randomly leave... So I walked.
  • Went to the Jeep shortly after - Got in a sleeping bag - Passed out
  • Jeremy & I woke up at 9 - Rolled over then rolled out.
  • Got to town - Showered up - Ate, then hit the road at 1:00
  • Rolled into LB at around 5:00
  • Boring, monotonous life continues here in Lethbridge...
  • End

Quote of the Day

.
"It's like Africa weather up here. No! It's easily 10 degrees hotter than Africa up here... I think I'm dying"

HAHA. I almost fell off my ladder after hearing that.

Winnebago Man

.
Ok, this is by no means a new video or anything, but dammit it's funny. I hadn't seen it in some time until tonight, and I was killing myself laughing. Like, holding my gut, laughing so hard you couldn't hear it, and it hurt after. He's just gets so worked up... HAHA! I love the part with the flies, and the last minute or so...

Rim Tape

.
Back in December I bought some rim tape off eBay for my bike. Since it is rather cold in December I couldn't put them on when I got them, and had to wait till it warmed up a bit so they would adhere properly. Then when it got warm, I got busy and didn't have time to put them on.

Since I can't really do much with my arm the way it is, I thought I'd tackle this project today. They aren't physically difficult to install, just time consuming. There was a total of 20 strips on 2 sheets, which gave me 4 extra if I screwed up.

So I started by cleaning the lip of the rim extremely well. Rims get terribly dirty with dirt, dust, and street grim, and they aren't fun to clean. I used WD-40 to cut the grease, then washed all the WD-40 off (as it actually attracts dirt to it) with some de-greaser, then just used some Windex and water to finish it off. At that point they were as clean as they were going to be.

After the cleaning, I started putting the tape on. It went pretty slow at first, but after the first few, I got the hang of it. It took about an hour to get all 16 strips on the rims, and I only had to re-do 1 one of those 16 strips!

Here is the finished product!

I'm very pleased with the turn out. I think it looks great. Best Rim Job ever!

Oh Bad Day

.
Damn... I had a crappy day today. First of all, I slept like crap... Just one of those nights were you lay there all night thinking about stuff, and don't get any sleep, or any good sleep anyway. So I was pretty dead when I rolled out of bed at 5:45 (Which is never a good time or anything...well...almost anything) Then when I left the house, I see that it is pouring rain outside. It was cold, wet and miserable. It set the tone for the rest of the day.

Luckily, we were working on finishing jobs today, so we were inside a warm house. But that didn't change the fact that I didn't want to be there. However, the day went on... Blah.

NOW, for the really crappy parts...

I got the shitty job of installing all the lighting fixtures for the day, which isn't fun to begin with, but I had to install them on 14 ft. ceilings! They were heavy, I was on the very top of the ladder, and I'm totally new to installing them, and I wasn't very confident doing it. So while doing this, my arm starts hurting. Badly. I had injured it awhile bad...hitting some guy...HAHA, but never did anything about it. Then yesterday I torqued it really hard in the wrong way and fucked it good. I could barely lift my drill for the rest of the day, and the only way I was working today with with a half a bottom of Advil in me... But whatever. I just toughed it out for the rest of the day.

Crappy part #2:

It was the end of the day, everyone was packing up, and we were heading out the door, when I see someone installed a bathroom switch upside down. I doubled checked with my crew chief, and he gave me the OK to fix it up. Easy fix. Unscrew it, flip it, screw it back up. Done. Right? For the most part yes, but not when you forget that the job it done, and all the circuits are hot again... The plug wasn't grounded, because I was flipping everything around, the 'hot' wire was still installed... I was grounded. Do the math... Right as I was flipping, I grounded out, and got a nice 120 V straight through me... HAHA. It's funny in hindsight...but it scared the shit out of me at the time, and it zapped me pretty good! A long enough zap to flip the whole circuit. I wasn't impressed. My whole arm was dead, and I was pissed off. My other arm was killing me, and I just wanted to get home.

Now, back to my arm. By 5:30 it was really killing... Rebecca advised me that I should maybe get it looked at last night...Haha. And after telling my Mom about it, I decided to cash that advice in. I headed to the doctor and got it looked at. He noticed my nicely swollen forearm right away. He jabbed it, squeezed it, then tells me my trouble. I've ripped almost all my ligaments off my bone in my forearm... WTF...

He was actually quite shocked that I've been able to work 2 full days with it like that. (Which made me feel tough. HAHA) Then we tells me the only way to fix it is to completely stop using it for a week or so. Which just can't happen now that I'm working. So then we wants me to go on Workers Comp... But I don't know how well that will go over with Neu Lite as I have only been working for 4 days now... So I'm not too sure what I'm going to do... All I know is that it hurts.

I'm just gonna go shower then head to bed and get this day over with...
